Phoenix Ranch School · Simi Valley, California

From infancy through 6th grade, and a site that finally tells the story.

Private independent school, 6 weeks through 6th grade, part of Endeavor Schools

A premier private independent school serving families in Simi Valley, California. Part of the Endeavor Schools network, Phoenix Ranch has built a strong reputation for individualized learning, state-of-the-art facilities, and a nurturing community environment, but its website was failing to communicate that story effectively to prospective families.

The parent decision journey

Awareness, trust, programs, campus, enrollment.

Private school websites serving families across a wide age span from infants to preteens must simultaneously serve multiple parent personas while projecting a consistent brand identity that communicates safety, community, and academic excellence.

  1. Awareness: A benefit-driven headline that immediately says the full age range, 6 weeks through 6th grade.
  2. Trust: The Endeavor Schools affiliation elevated to the hero, for parents who value accountability and safety.
  3. Program exploration: Program cards that lead with age ranges before names, so parents self-identify instantly.
  4. Campus visit: Swimming pools, basketball courts, sports fields and technology labs, shown as the differentiator they are.
  5. Enrollment: Tour scheduling above the fold, persistent click-to-call, and Open House registration in season.

The challenge

Friction between interested families and enrollment.

The tour form was buried

Parents had to hunt through multiple pages to initiate the admissions process. Families arriving from paid search or organic results had no immediate, frictionless way to express interest without scrolling significantly.

A hero that said nothing specific

“Where Young Minds Soar” was aspirational but failed to communicate the key differentiators: the Endeavor Schools affiliation, decades of community trust, and the expansive campus. Trust indicators and testimonials sat well below the fold, and the single quote was not tied to any program or age group.

Four programs, no way to self-select

The school serves children from 6 weeks through 6th grade across four program tiers, but Infant and Toddler, Preschool, Elementary, and Summer Camp were presented as equal-weight image tiles without the age-range context that helps parents pick the right one quickly.

Navigation overload, worse on a phone

High-priority enrollment paths sat beside School Uniforms, Lunch Program and Handbook PDFs, creating decision paralysis for first-time visitors. On smartphones, the primary device for parents researching on the go, the tour form had hidden fields and poor touch interactions.

Our strategic solution

Aligned with the parent decision journey.

The new information architecture guides parents through a logical progression from initial awareness to enrollment commitment, with the school’s nurturing community identity woven throughout every content section.

An active hero, with the tour form above the fold.

The passive tagline banner was replaced with an above-the-fold tour scheduling form and a clear, benefit-driven headline that immediately communicates the full age range, 6 weeks through 6th grade. The Endeavor Schools affiliation moved up beside it as a primary credibility signal.

Persistent click-to-call phone buttons and multiple tour scheduling entry points throughout the page.

Program cards that lead with the age.

Age ranges before program names, so parents instantly self-identify and click through to the right enrollment path without reading through content. Summer Camp elevated as a standalone program with its own call to action, capturing families who may enroll year-round after a positive summer.

The campus as an enrollment differentiator.

A dedicated facilities module showcasing swimming pools, basketball courts, sports fields, and technology labs, converting the school’s physical campus advantage into a visual differentiator. Operational resources, the calendar, handbook, uniforms and lunch program, consolidated into a Parent Portal and an Our Campus sub-menu.

A page for each program tier, with its own proof.

The single generic quote was replaced with a rotating testimonial module organized by program tier, giving parents in each enrollment phase a relevant peer validation point. Every conversion touchpoint rebuilt for touch, with streamlined form fields and click-to-call integration.

Primary navigation: About Us, Programs, Admissions, Our Campus, Schedule a Tour, Contact. Careers moved to the footer.

Outcome

Repositioned as the premier private school option for Simi Valley families, from infancy through elementary.

By aligning the navigation hierarchy with how parents actually make school selection decisions, from general awareness of the school’s identity, through program exploration, into campus visit scheduling, we eliminated the friction that was causing qualified prospects to abandon the site before taking action.
